Ed Murphy, Associate Professor in MSU's Department of History, new book, For A Proper Home: Housing Rights in the Margins of Urban Chile, 1960-2010 is part of the University of Pittsburgh's Latin America Series. In this work, Murphy chronicles how low-income Chileans in the Santiago area, progressed from illegal squatters to titled property owners.


Peter Beattie named CLACS Interim Director

We welcome Peter Beattie, associate professor of history, as interim director now that Bob Blake has stepped down to be in Colombia on a Fullbright Fellowship. The internal search for a new CLACS director is underway. Dr. Beattie outlines his goals and plans for CLACS this semester.

With this video, CLACS launches a new project to create other compilations of student experiences in Latin America and the Caribbean to highlight the diverse opportunities available through MSU.
